Some people can walk and chew gum at the same time, but I must not be one of them. I'm just not at the point where I enjoy speaking and running at the same time, especially on those cold winter days when my lips freeze and my words sound like jibberish. I love eavesdropping on other gab sessions when I run, but it's also nice to zone out. I had a conversation the other day about the two categories of runners: a) those who use running as a social outlet and b) those who use running to find peace. Personally, I prefer a quiet run where I can reflect on the day and gather my thoughts. I also, however, enjoy running with other people who understand that I am a "quiet" runner.
