Perfect conditions for a marathon (ha!).

We woke up nice and early this morning to run five miles, and I was really feeling it today. Unfotunately, we stepped outside and onto a skating rink. Our street was sheer ice! Tires were spinning around us and getting nowhere. For some reason, we thought that sidewalk/road conditions would be better along the main drive, but we were wrong. Despite the black ice, we contemplated running for almost twenty minutes before we decided to turn around and head inside. On to "Plan B"! Instead of running on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, we're following a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday schedule this week. Tonight will be my first crosstraining day in a long time. Yahoo! Way to ring in the New Year!

GUT RATING SCALE:
(1) Great workout! Could have run twice as far (if I threw caution and The Plan to the wind).
(2) Rewarding effort - felt almost great.
(3) Worked up a decent sweat - had fun in general.
(4) Heart and soul not out here with my body, but...The Plan, Boss, The Plan!
(5) Thank goodness the race wasn't today. I'd rather be doing almost anything else.
